  • Happy Birthday to Serhiy Gonchar, Ukrainian Cyclist (Born July 3, 1970):  Former Ukrainian professional road racing cyclist. He won the World Time Trial Championship in 2000.  Due to temporary spelling error in his passport, he is often incorrectly called Honchar.
  • July 4th:  Happy Independence Day USA!
  • Happy Birthday to Diana Harkusha, Ukrainian lawyer, dancer, model and beauty queen (Born July 5, 1994): She is a Ukrainian model, lawyer, dancer, as well as a pageant title holder who won third place at Miss Ukraine Universe 2014.  She later represented Ukraine at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant, where she placed 2nd runner-up.

  • Ukraine History:  July 16, 1990:  The Parliament of the Ukrainian SSR declares state sovereignty over the territory of the Ukrainian SSR.  Issued the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine. 
  • July 17th:  World Emoji Day!
  • Ukraine History:  July 17, 2014:  Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crashes near the border of Ukraine and Russia after being shot down. All 298 people on board are killed.
  • Happy Birthday to Vitali Klitschko, Ukrainian boxer and politician, Mayor of Kyiv (Born July 19, 1971): Ukrainian politician former professional boxer who serves as Mayor of Kyiv and head of the Kyiv City State Administration held both since June 2014.  He holds a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) from Kyiv University's Physical Science Department.  As a boxer he won multiple world heavyweight championships.
