​The "no charge" event is open to the public to attend.

Bi-lingual individuals will be present to assist attendees with questions.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 6:30 PM at the Carnegie Borough Building in the Council Chambers Room.   There is no admission charge and is open to the public to attend.

On Sunday, September 24, 2023, the IOCC Pittsburgh Metropolitan Committee plans to hold it’s second prayer service and fundraising dinner that will benefit our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. This “Ukrainian Relief” gathering will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh, PA. We would like to cordially invite your Parish to attend, and support IOCC’s aid efforts in Ukraine. The recent conflict has been devastating. It has resulted in the displacement of fourteen million people that are now hungry, homeless, and lacking essential items. 
​
From 2013-2018, we held six similar efforts to benefit Syrian Relief. Up to 650 people attended these annual gatherings, and we were able to send over $300,000 to IOCC. Glory to God!  In past gatherings we were blessed to have Metropolitan JOSEPH, Metropolitan ANTONY, Metropolitan SAVAS, Archbishop MELCHISEDEK, Archbishop MITROPHAN, Archbishop DANIEL, Archbishop GREGORY, and Bishop THOMAS in attendance. We have also had several non-Orthodox religious leaders in attendance – and are expecting Catholic Bishop Zubik to attend this year.

​Joint prayer services are being held on Tuesdays in Carnegie, PA.
Services alternate between
STS. PETER & PAUL UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH &
HOLY TRINITY UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC PARISH.   
Service time is 7:00 PM. ​

UCHI at Carnegie Crawl!

UCHI is participating in the monthly Carnegie Crawl Events that occur on the SECOND Friday of each month from May to October from 5pm to 9pm.  We will have at table to share information about UCHI and our fundraising efforts for UHRF & Warm Hands Art Therapy Sessions.  You are able to purchase artwork from the children of Ukraine!

​The August 20, 2023, event will include the following:
  • Ukrainian food such as borshch, holubtsi, kovbasa, and varenyky and desserts for your lunch purchase along with beverages.
  • Ukrainian vendors selling Ukrainian items.
  • UCHI will have the Warm Hands Art Therapy work from the children in Ukraine for viewing and purchase.
  • Warm Hands Art Therapy Program videos showcasing the program.
  • A children’s corner with exciting activities.
  • Basket Raffle Auction.
  • Name rendering in Ukrainian.
  • UCHI’s Ukrainian Refugee Information Exchange program employers, social service providers and other areas.​
    • Ukrainian Refugee Information Exchange Program (URIE) with introduction of employers & social services providers, no presentations, but will have information tables.

A short program Commemorating the 32nd Ukrainian Independence Day may contain the following in no particular order.
  • Welcome & Explanation of UCHI programs.​​
  • Singing of National Anthems (American & Ukrainian) & Bozhe Veliky.
  • Ukrainian Songs & Ukrainian Dances from Kyiv Ukrainian Dance Ensemble and Ridna Shkola.
  • Dr. Taras Filenko will present “The Ukrainian National Identity Under Threat.” (Will be presented in English & Ukrainian.) 
  • Parish and organizations will be invited to make a brief 90 second announcement of upcoming events they have scheduled.
  • Presentation of tokens of appreciation to community organizations.

​All proceeds from the event will benefit the Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Fund (UHRF) / Warm Hands Art Therapy Program.  The UHRF was created back in 2022 as an outcome of the invasion of Ukraine in order to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine/Ukrainians.  One of the main projects of the UHRF has been the Warm Hands Art Therapy Program for Orphans and Disadvantaged Youth in Ukraine.  Additional information for your review about UHRF HERE or information about Warm Hands Art Therapy HERE.

UCHI at the Carnegie Arts Walk July 29, 2023

UCHI is participating in the Annual Carnegie Arts Walk happening on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.   We will have at table to showcase the artwork of the children from the Warm Hands Art Therapy Programs.  You are able to purchase artwork from the children of Ukraine!
Carnegie Art Walk attendees loved of the artwork created by the children of the “Warm Hands” art therapy rehabilitation and skills development program. One hundred percent of all sales and donations go to funding this invaluable program in Ukraine.   To donate click HERE.
